Allison Cornell (Vocals, Violin, Viola, Synth)

Allison is a genius. Gabrielle and I would take a rough bottom track of percussion (occasionally with a bass line), turn it over to her and get the hell out of her way. She never failed us. I don’t know anyone who contributed more to the development of our music.

She earned her Masters from the prestigious Julliard  School of Music and is an extremely versatile accompanist in the studio and on the road -- providing keyboards, viola, violin, guitar and vocals.

Her impressive credits include backup vocals for Shania Twain, Paula Cole, Joe Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Pat Benatar, Ronnie Spector, and many others. As she continued her education in New York as a singer songwriter, she toured with Joe Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Paula Cole, Suzanne Vega, Shania Twain, Angelique Kidjo, Jann Arden, Tracy Chapman, Pat Benatar, Ann-Margret and Ronnie Spector.  Her recording credits include work with Cyndi Lauper, Jann Arden, Pat Benatar, Joe Jackson, Rachael Sage, Carter Burwell, Tim Booth, Angelo Badelmente and Branford Marsalis.

In 2005 Allison released her debut solo CD Pretty Colored Lights. The music on the project not only reflects her incredible musicianship but also displays her amazing songwriting skills. Pretty Colored Lights offers a variety of jazz infused pop, with something for everyone.

The recordings show her eclecticism and virtuosity on strings, keys and vocals.  She's a masterful chameleon - effectively incorporating R&B, Pop, Dance, Jazz and even Americana.

Allison is the featured artist on the Raven Recording album, Jhoom: The Intoxication of Surrender.
